Overview:

Note: Must have Boeing MRB certification and have taken the Boeing Repair Analysis course.

Positions are for the Vought Charleston facility location.

Aircraft Structure Liaison Engineer that reviews and provides dispositions to discrepant composite and metallic detail part and assembly nonconformances. Familiar with aerospace material review processing and Boeing Document D-13709

Requirements of Obtaining Material Review Board Authority by Boeing Subcontractors in a pre-type certification environment.

Capable of conveying engineering disposition part repair design intent using CATIA V5 graphics systems. Ability to use Enovia and TeamCenter(PDM)produ­ct manager systems as well as a variety of MS office and manufacturing execution system (MES) software applications desirable.

Responsibilities:­

Applicant will be responsible for 787 program structure and/or systems repair creation. Will participate in coordinating with various technical, manufacturing and supplier support functional counterparts as well as FAA Designated Engineering Representatives

Duration: 12 months minimum.

Qualifications:

Candidate should possess a BSAE, ME or CE and a minimum 5 years of aerospace engineering experience including Boeing MRB-Liaison signature authority experience.

Boeing MRB structural repair analysis course completion will be required to obtain full MRB authority.

)Vought does not pay to train contract engineers. The expectation is that for the substantial compensation the candidate already possesses the necessary tools-skills. In the case of performing MRB on a Boeing program, FAA mandated repair analysis training-cerification is recognized by Vought as not being a common skill.
2) Vought can provide the necessary training on a no-tuition fee basis for contract engineers.
3) Time spent in this course is not paid work time by Vought
4) As present work load is 60+ hours per week the contract candidate can work hours outside the course until complete, typically 20-30 hours per week.
5) MRB repair analysis course is approx 60 hours with a 5 to 7 hour final exam, usually about 3 weeks worth.
6) Course must be completed to obtain Vought MRB signature authority on Boeing programs, no exceptions.
7) Signature authority is granted based on MRB repair course completion, prior experience and varies if experience is design or MRB based.
8) After 3 unsucessful attempts to pass the course inside 6 months, Vought would resrve the right to release the contract MRB candidate.
9) Base labor rate for design and contract MRB candidates is $50 per hour. Those contractors that pass the course and are granted MRB liaison engineering signature authority will receive a raise to $55 per hour.

Salary: $50-$55hr
