IMMEDIATE OPENING: PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Salt Lake City, UT
Part-time 25 hours per week (1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
Hourly Rate($10.00 to $13.00)

The U.S. Dream Academy is a national non-profit organization which provides after-school educational enrichment programs and mentoring services for children of prisoners, children with a family history of ncarceration, and children who have fallen behind academically. We currently have an immediate opening for a Program Assistant.
RESPONSIBILITIES: assist education specialist with implementing curriculum and all aspects of literacy program, assist children with completion of homework and on-line activities, assist with the coordination of community outreach activities, assist with preparing snacks for children, perform other duties as assigned by Center Director.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: excellent verbal and written communication, bilingual in English and Spanish a definite plus, excellent ability to communicate with children, excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, must have ability to quickly assess situations and make sound decisions, must be proficient in maintaining accurate filing and database systems, proficient knowledge of internet communications, proficient knowledge of academic software applications, must have an understanding of issues surrounding incarceration and the impact incarceration has on families.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: must have high school diploma, at least 2 years of college, Bachelors degree preferred, must have 3-4 years experience working with at-risk youth, experience working in a non-profit environment is strongly desired. Knowledge of community relations and experience working with volunteers is preferred.
